Bio

Alex Ellsworth is a composer, producer, and artist living in Los Angeles. He was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Singapore. During high school, he took up an interest in guitar after he was inspired by the movie, “School of Rock” and has performed with multiple bands throughout Singapore and abroad (Philippines and Indonesia).

After moving to Los Angeles, he took an interest in production/songwriting and then film scoring after studying under the instruction of Adam Schoenberg. He received his Bachelor of Arts as a Cognitive Science major and a Music minor from Occidental College in May 2017. He is currently a studio runner for Crosby Collective Studios LA, where he helps out Bains (Jay Sean, The Wanted) and Chris Montgomery (Vance Joyce, Rachel Platten). He also interns for Megan Cavallari, who has been mentored by Danny Elfman and Jerry Goldsmith.

When Alex isn't busy working his two jobs, he is working on scoring for films. Two of his current projects include writing music for a live-action fantasy web series (Celestial X) and a short film (The Yesterday Lady). Two past successful short films Alex has scored at Occidental, “Spen/Cer” and “The Detention Room”, have been accepted to multiple film festivals, including ShortTake Student Film Festival and Brightside Tavern Film Fest.

During Alex's free time he likes to go out to eat Asian food and workout.
